THE INTERNATIONAL PROJECT

"My family's special shopping bag"

(„Mano šeimos ypatingas pirkinių maišelis“)

Every year thousands of plastic and paper bags are used and thrown away, where the latter can take tens or even hundreds of years to degrade. Cloth bags on the other hand can be used and reused every time someone goes shopping. Adults can buy these bags in most supermarkets, but we believe that children should also be able to make use of these bags to help save our environment. In turn perhaps also encouraging parents and other relatives and friends to become more aware and do the same.

In order to help make a change this year (2016) from 21st – 25th of November our organisation is planning a week dedicated to ecological protection involving our staff, children, their families and friends on our Facebook website (https://www.facebook.com/volungele). During this week children will make up drawings – their special shopping bag sketches, will learn a song called "Let's Recycle", watch educational movies, visit Klaipeda regional recycling department and will take part in other educational activities.

We will inform and share our practices with the members via Facebook, stands and through our website www.volungele.lt and encourage their participation with prepared thematic leaflets, posters, poetry book, new songs and an exhibition of "My family's special shopping bag".

In order to spread the message the teachers from our school have also invited other various institutions in the country to join the event (published on websites www.ikimokyklinis.lt and https://www.facebook.com/volungele). Encouraging other pre-school organizations to carry out their own tasks and then send photos and short descriptions of the final event, that will then be published in the virtual catalog on the project's organization's official website. Furthermore the project and its events will also be published in a nationwide newspaper.

The first part of this edition is a collection of different methodological resources and activities used in our project that can be useful for improving our students reading level and motivation. The second parts are four different stories with the same beginning and the same character. Ayur and his journey has been written by the students of five different schools, different countries and different cultures in Europe. This should be the first aim of any European project.

Pelytė / Little mouse
 
Little mouse 
in her house 
stirred a porridge 
for her little children. 
A pot for one, 
a cup for another, 
a ladle for the third 
a spoon for the fouth 
and none for a little  baby. 
Oh, dear, 
Run, run little mouse 
to fetch some water.
 
Take a palm of the baby and "stir porridge" with his first finger of the other hand. With the words " a pot for one, a cup for another" you bend his fingers one by one, and saying the words "run, run little mouse". "Run up" with your fingers towards the baby's armpit and tickle there.
 
Stir, stir porridge 
Little mouse fetch some water. 
Run over the golden bridge 
Along the sandy path. 
I can't find the way, 
I am scared of big bad wolf. 
This is the path 
This is the path 
And this is the deep well.
 
You can play this game like the first game. There are only other words.
 
 
Katinėlis ir pelytė / Cat and a mousy
 
Game is conducted by two children. One player - a cat, and another  - a mousy. The cat becomes about one end of a bench, and a mousy - at opposite. The cat asks a mousy, that answers:
 
- A mousy, a mousy where was?
- In a pantry.
- That there did? 
- Oil ate.
- And me have left? 
- Has not left. 
- And where spoons has put?
- Under a flank has put.
- And where a jug has put?
- Went, the malicious dog has attacked 
- I have dropped and have broken. 
- Then I shall catch you. 
- I shall escape.
 
The mousy tries to escape from a cat. If the cat has caught it, they vary roles. If the cat, having run some circles around of a bench, cannot catch a mousy, it is necessary to suggest to them to change over and change a direction of run. 
Game rules. Two persons play. But two more pairs can observe of game, and then take their place. A mousy and a cat run only around of a bench. The mousy is considered caught if the cat has touched it a hand.
 
 
Ganiau ganiau aveles / Pass, pass of sheeps...
 
From among playing the shepherd, the wolf, the others - sheep get out. Sheep cost a flock, and the shepherd goes around and sings:
 
I graze the lambs on meadows, 
The grey wolf sits at a fence, 
Only I see - its tail sticks out, 
Of the Malicious wolf I am not afraid, 
With stick shall banish, 
Is fast with it I shall finish!
 
The hungry wolf at this time approaches. It wishes to deceive the shepherd and to seize sheep’s. The wolf speaks: " Shepherd, shepherd, you mummy has bought very beautiful boots. Run to look " . " And you, the wolf, please care my sheep’s? " - " to a pass, only you run more soon! " When shepherd escapes, the wolf seizes a part of sheep’s (takes them for hands) and is hidden. Shepherd, having come running back, sees that sheep’s do not suffice. Goes afflicted and again sings:

The wolf comes again and speaks the herd: „Shepherd, shepherd, mummy has baked to you very tasty rolls. Whether run home them to try " . " you say lies the wolf? „- " is not present, the truth, the truth, I saw„. " And who will care my sheep? " - " I will care do not worry ". As soon as shepherd escapes, the wolf suffices the remained sheep’s and all of them hide. Comes shepherd, sees that does not remain any sheep. It lamented also goes to search. Having seen the wolf, asks it: „the Wolf, the wolf, whether saw you my sheep’s? “ - " is not present did not see. When I grazed your sheep’s, I was frightened by a bear, here I and have run away ". At this time sheep’s, have heard a voice the herd, start to stamp legs. „Who there knocks?" - The shepherd asks. „It is a thunder rattles ", - the wolf answers. Then sheep’s start to bleat: «Be,be,be..."  „Same my sheep’s! " - Was delighted shepherd. It releases sheep’s, and the wolf-liar expels. Cheerful sheep jump around the herd. 
Game rules. All participants of game should operate according to a plot. In circulation with sheep’s the wolf should not suppose roughness.
 
 
Katinas / The Cat
 
Three play: the seller, the buyer and a cat. On one end of a bench the seller, on other the person to the seller - a cat sits down. The buyer approaches to the seller and asks:
 
- Where you go? 
- In Тrakai! (The name of city) 
- Whom you carry?
- A cat. 
- Sell to me! 
- That you will give? 
- Five co pecks, the spoon of honey and the motley puppy.
 
After these words the cat jumps and runs around of a bench, and the buyer catches up with it. If it will catch up (will touch a hand), players vary roles: the cat becomes the buyer, the buyer the seller, the seller - a cat. 
Game rules. Each time the buyer thinks out a new variant of a payment for a cat, and the seller - other name of city. Having run all over a bench two times, they vary roles.
 
 
Žąsų tiltas / The goose bridge
 
From among playing the wolf, a bear, a gander, and the others-geese get out. The wolf and a bear join hands, and geese are built before them. Ahead there is a gander that has a conversation with a bear or the wolf:
 
- Where fly, geese? 
- Through the seas in warm edges. 
- Do not fly. 
- We shall put straw and we shall pass. 
- It will break. 
- We shall put boards. 
- Their water bathes.
- My father - the master. It will make the iron bridge, and we shall pass.
 
After these words the wolf and a bear lift hands, and a gander with geese pass through this gate. The wolf with a bear, having lowered hands downwards, tries to catch last goose. If it is possible, ask, to whom it wishes to go - to the wolf or to a bear. Having chosen one of them, the goose becomes behind its back. Geese pass through a gate until two groups - a command of the wolf and a command of a bear are formed. Then both groups are built against each other. Participants of each command keep for a belt ahead of costing, and the wolves to a bear are linked by hands. Each circuit pulls in the party. 
Game rules. To keep for a belt ahead of costing and to pull follows moderately. That command which circuit does not break wins or the first player does not pass noted line. The wolf and a bear can put on heads mask, representing animal muzzles.
 
 
Rigu-ragu
 
The leader of Game gets out. It faces playing. At all fingers are bent in a fist. The leader shakes before itself the hands compressed in a fist, and sentences: " Riga-ragout, Riga-ragout…" Then puts out greater fingers, representing horns, and names, for example: “the Goat with horns" or "the House with horns". If the animal with horns everyone should show horns in the same way quickly is named. If the animal without horns or any subject children do not show a horn is named. For a mistake pay a forfeit. In the end of game forfeits are redeemed (children sing songs, read verses, etc.). 
Game rules. Children closely should watch movements of hands of the leader. Mistakes are watched by the leader.
 
 
Medžiotojas / The hunter
 
From among playing the hunter and the forester get out:
 
Drum drum drumbacele
Mice ace kumpacele.
Mice a, mice be
Mice ace kumpace.
 
The hunter goes to the forester and complains: " I Wish to hunt, but there is no wood "."The Wood can be planted", - the forester speaks. Results a part of children and places in different places of a platform on distance about two-three steps from each other. "Here you and a wood ", - are spoken by it.  "And on whom to me to hunt, if there are no animals?" - The hunter complains. Then the forester puts behind trees of other playing and gives them the name of different animals. „What animal you wish to catch?" - The forester asks. „The fox",  - the hunter answers. The named animal should escape, and the hunter to pursue it. Trees lift branches (place hands) and try to prevent to catch to the hunter an animal. If it nevertheless will catch extraction, players vary places. If will not catch, new characters and game get out begins all over again. Game rules. Trees, trying to close road to the hunter, can make one leg a step in any party. The animal is considered caught if the hunter has touched it a hand.
